Joe Belmont directs the Jazz Ensembles at NCMC. He received his B.A. from the City University of New York. He has played with a variety of bands, including The Hamptones, Urban Renewal, and Fresh Squeeze. He plays guitar, writes and arranges music for the band Viva Quetzal, recording three CDs and traveling to numerous gigs. He has two solo albums: “Sketches from the Journey Home” (2003) and “Live at Leeds (Northampton)” (2005). Joe has taught jazz guitar at Amherst College since 1990.

Michael “Rusty” Williams-Russell, MT-BC, is a staff Music Therapist at NCMC. He received his Associate’s Degree at Holyoke Community College and his B.M. in Music Therapy from Anna Maria College. Rusty is certified by the Certification Board of Music Therapists and is the founder of Heart Beats Music Therapy, providing services throughout Western Mass. He also serves as Clinical Internship Supervisor and adjunct professor for Anna Maria College.
