Jane Hanson teaches the Solo Vocal Performance Class for Teens at NCMC. She is founder and director of Jane Hanson Productions, and has served as a director, conductor, faculty member, or vocalist for The Keene Chorale, Commonwealth Opera, Williston Northampton School, and the Dept. of Music and Dance at UMass, Amherst. Ms. Hanson received her B.M. in Music Education from UMass and her M.M. in Choral Conducting from the Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music. She studied voice and vocal pedagogy for more than a decade with the internationally renowned (late) Dr. Oren Brown.


Evelyn Harris directs the Ku’umba Women’s Choir and teaches voice at NCMC. She was a member of the world-renowned acapella group Sweet Honey in the Rock for 18 years, and has been singing, arranging, writing and conducting music for more than 35 years, traveling extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan, the Caribbean and Africa.


Catherine Kay directs High Definition, a women’s vocal ensemble at NCMC. From 1998 to 2013, Cathy taught at the Williston Northampton School, where she directed productions of “Anything Goes,” “Seussical,” “City of Angels,” “Pippin” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Cathy received her B.A. from Smith College, and is also an accompanist for the Smith College Chorus.


Kate O’Connor teaches voice, keyboards and songwriting at NCMC. She studied Vocal Jazz and Performance at UMass Amherst, the Ali Akbar College of Music, and the Naropa Institute. Praised for her “strong and flawless powerhouse voice,” Kate has extensive performance, songwriting, and recording experience.


Agnes Zsigmondi McCraven teaches voice and conducts the children’s chorus at NCMC. She is co-founder of the Hungarian folk music group Kolinda, which composed original material using rhythms and melodies native to central Europe and received much acclaim in Hungary and the West in the 1970’s. Agnes received her Bachelor’s degree in voice and Master’s degree in Music Education from UMass Amherst, and taught music and chorus in the elementary schools in Amherst for 25 years, as well as voice lessons at UMASS Amherst and at the Community Music School of Springfield.
